Is anybody aware if microsofts DHCP service running on NT Server4, has the functionality to assign ip addresses to clients on a different physical sub-net? and if an exsclusive range can be assigned to them.
Any help appreciated.

Yep. We do it as a backup to our branch DHCP servers here. You have to make a registry change on the server to allow it to respond to multicast packets. (Do a search at MS for multicast and DHCP and it should turn it up.) Then you need helper addresses in all your routers to relay the DHCP request to your NT 4 server.
