Hello
One of my customers has an Exchange 5.5 Server SP 3 and 3Com's Internet Firewall DMZ. The Exchange Server is on the DMZ port and the Outlook clients can connect to it, but not the way round. The firewall blocks all the connection attemps form the Exchange Server. I fixed the ports as described by Microsoft, but still I see that the Exchange Server is trying to connect on other ports than the ones I fixed. After I fixed the ports I expected to see just connection attemps to the ports I defined.
The firewalls logs shows:
09/19/2000 08:29:05.688 - UDP packet dropped - Source:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, 3507, DMZ - Destination:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, 1033, LAN - - Rule 0
Counting up the destination ports. This are not the ports I fixed! Sometimes there are connection attemps on port 137 (NetBios). Do I have to open this port tot?
Has anyone experience with the 3Com Firewall or do you know why the Exchange Server still is tryint to connect on other ports than the fixed ones?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Philipp
