I'm running Exchange 5.5 with Outlook XP as the client and users get the following annoying message along with a delay. "Requesting data from microsoft exchange server"

I know you can minimize it,Is there a way to stop this from poping up at all and stop the delay?

The only way I am aware of is to select the Always minimize this message when a delay occurs check box.

I too am having the same problem!
Our customer is running a win 98 client on win 2k sbs server which has recently been upgraded. My suspicion is that the registry still points to the old server/domain and this is causing the delay we reloaded the workstation o/s and this resolved the problem I dont knowif this is an option for you!

We are running Windows 2000 (sp3) and Office Xp (sp1) with Exchange, and have the same problem. Minimizing it keeps it off the desktop, but there is still a 5-15 sec delay when it occurs, and it is visible on the taskbar. Sometimes the delay only affects outlook, but other times everything is stopped while it blinks in the taskbar.

The MS website says this happens when an RPC takes longer than it should. I would just like to forego the warning box and let exhange take care of all its calls in the background, preferably without stopping everything in the process.
