Recently our Exchange 5.5 SP3 server hung up on us. No users could access it via their Outlook clients. I checked the Application Event Log and found some of the following entries:
Event ID: 7200
Source: MSExchangeIS Public
Background thread FDoMaintenance halted due to error code 0xfaf
Event ID: 7200
Source MSExchangeIS Private
Background thread FDoquotaCheck halted due to error code: 0xfaf
Event ID: 4097
Source: DrWatson
The application, exeDSAMAIN.dbg, generated an application error. The error occurred on 9/30/2000 @ 18: 1: 4.843. The exception generated was 80000003 at addres 77f7629c DbgtBreakPoint.
Event ID: 4063
Source: MSExchangeIMC
Too many network errors occurred while trying to execute an operation on the global address book container. This is probably due to a problem with the DS. The IMS is being shut down.
After restarting the server all is well. However, I want to know what caused this, so that it can be avoided in the future. Thanks.
