We are transitioning from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 and noticed the following problem:
Users who have been moved to the exchange 2000 server can see html formatted messages fine from people who are homed on 5.5 servers, but have problems with html formatted messages from other users who have been moved to Exchange 2000. The html formatted messages appear fine when read from an Outlook client, but the messages from Exchange 2000 users appear blank with an attachment icon when trying to view the message via OWA 5.5. We are using OWA 5.5 as OWA 2000 does not support access to Exchange 5.5 mailboxes.
An interesting note is, if a user chooses to forward the message, the body of the message appears in the new message that is being forwarded. Also, we receive the security warning when checking HTML formatted messages from 5.5 users, but do not receive the same warning when it comes from a user on an Exchange 2000 server.
Any suggestions? I know exchange handles formatting of Internet messages differently based on the type of server E2K is communicating with and was wondering if the use of S-TNEF could be the cause of the problem?
