We are currently look at a Groupwise to Exchange 5.5 migration across a number of UK wide locations and I would like any advice on the best
way to deploy the Exchange connector for Groupwise and Groupwise API gateway considering the whole migration process could be spread over several months (approx 3000 users).

Each location has a single GW PO in it's own domain, the Exchange environment will be single Org with a site for each location (single server).

From the details I have read so far it seems to simply that when the two systems coexist message transfer from one system to the other must pass
through the Connector and API gateway. If this is true, my WAN traffic will increase dramatically if, as I had planned, I install a centrally based server / gateway for the duration of the migration (obviously the migration porcess will be run locally). As users even within the same geographic location but on different mail systems will have messages between themselves
sent up and back down the WAN link.

However I have also read that if one Exchange server in the organisation has the Connector installed then the other Exchange servers in the other sites just need the addressing componenent only or is this just to allow dir sync to occur ?

Also given the length of the migration process any advice on ways the eliminate single points of failure i.e. multiple API gateways, connectors
etc...

Any advice gratefully received.
