I just installed Windows 2000 Professional on my Desktop at home. I use a LAN to connect my Laptop to the printer.

Everytime I try to access the Destop over the LAN (from the laptop) it asks for a network password. I have not specified any password. I tried setting a password for my user preferences on the desktop but that didn't work.

Security is good but I need some access.
Can anyone help me out with this?

Denali,

If you are in a workgroup at home (no domain controller holding account information) then you will need to have a username and password that match on all machines and their resources that you are trying to access.

Hope that helps.
