Hi

My Network consists of windows2000 Advanced Server as our Domain controller and 3 windows 2000 servers as member server. We are using shared-T1 with cisco1700 router for our internet connection.
My development team needs administrative privileges on 3 member servers for development purposes . I had created one account on DC and try to add that account on local admin group of each server but it's not allowing me to do so and giving error :
'Processing of object "username" failed with following error:
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.'

In application log of event viewer it logs error with event id 1000
"Windows cannot determine the username or computername .Return Value(1722)

checked with microsoft solution also but no luck .
Is their any other way to give admin privileges to my development team on member servers.

can anybody help me out in this?
thanks in advance.

Praveen,

I would recommend creating a Domain Local group named Development for instance, and adding that group to the local admin group on just the member servers. This way you will be following the "best practices" of assigning permissions to groups instead of users.

Good luck,

As one user from development team has assigned to do administrative tasks on the server that's why i am trying with user not with group.
Even though i had tried with group also but no success.
