Logging Incoming and Outgoing Mail

Hello, I need to be able to track the number of incoming and outgoing e-mails on a daily basis. Is there any way to track this with Exchange or do I need third party software. I'm not concerned with internal e-mails. I am new to Exchange and appreciate all the help. Thanks!! Eric

The tracking is a connector-based, if you have many connector, you may need to count for each. You may use third party program (such as Crystal Report) to analyse the log file (for example: 20001220.log) of each day.

I'm not sure this works or not, because I never done this before.
