Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : NT 4 Option Pack Install
I have never had this problem before, so I was not sure where to ask it.
I have a Dell2400 with Array controller. I installed NT 4, SP5, IE4, and nothing else. When I go to install the NT Option pack, I get the option and select it. Then I get the message to save or run from disk. I run from the disk and then I get the message that the system is running on a newer service pack. I say ok and then I get a pop-up window saying "Can not detect OS type."
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advace!

Greg,
Check out MS KB article # Q195015. There is a hotfix for this. Simply put, Option pack was created before this Service Pack, so it can't figure out the newer files. Oops.
Good luck,
Sean

Sean,
Thank you for your help.
I found my answer at MS ArticleID : Q205328.
It stated that this could happen if NetLogon and Computer Browser services were not running. I checked my Control Panel and I only had 7 services installed!? (Neither one of those were in my services! So I did an F-disk and this time it everything installed OK. I have not idea of why the services did not install the first time, I did not get any errors.) Anyways, I thought I would follow up.
Thanks Again,
