' "Replication of the SAM User "service" from PDC failed

Hi,

One of my BDC's eventlog is filled with the below message for every minute.

' "Replication of the SAM User "service" from primary domain controller PDCSERVER failed with the following error:The Specified user already exists.'

Any suggestions???

Mahesh,

Can you supply the Event ID and pertinent information about your domain controllers (OS, SP level, number of user accounts in domain, trust relationships (if any), etc..)? Haven't had any luck with that specific message.

I am just an consultant working for an client. The info. was brought up by one of the site administrator. SP is 6a nt 4.0. Doesn't know the event id? Everything was perfect until I used SMS account service. I had to rename this account to get the problem solved. Yet to know the result.

Did you rename the "smsservice" account to "service"? If not, is there any account just named "service"?

No, I didn't rename the account. I created an new domain admin account service. It was functioning properly for all the sites except one. When I try to access the share with the domain admin account (service), I would be authenticated to enter a network password, where as I am able to access the shares directly using my account (domain admin account). They are logging into the same domain. When I asked the user in the remote site to specify rights exclusively for service account. I don't know what she did, the access has been denied for other others also. Probably, she might have messed up with replacing the permissions on sub-directories. They told me the server's eventlog is filled up with the message "Replicating SAM failed on the PDC using service account). I was asked to rename the service account. I have done that.
