Placing WinNT Server 4 onto a newer machine faces problems in adding the next
things. Attempt to load in Options Pack generates error condition. A dialog box comes up,
"Can not detect operating system version", <OK?>. On selecting the button, operation closes,
returning to the desk top. Trying application of Service Pack 4 cd install, apparently works.
But following this again with attempt to load option pack still ends with same error. (The
scripts did not allow option to omit service pack 3 loading, before ie4.01/sp1 loading, on a later
fresh install attempt).
Resolution?
Is the option pack required when intent is to work with sql server 7?
