Exchange 2000 and routing

I have set up Exchange 2000 and am using a SMTP connector to send and receive mail by modem to my ISP using a demand dial routing interface. Everything is working fine with sending and receiving mail except that when the interface is connected to the ISP using the mmc is really slow and also connecting from
the client is slow. I suspect this something to do with the interface and the dns servers being assinged to it by the ISP.

Any ideas?

I would create the dist. list on the exchange server, and not in the client
