Hi Everyone,
I seem to be having a strange problem with my mail server. As the subject notes, I can't send email to AOL or Mindspring. I receive an NDR that cites #4.4.7 as the reason for messages to AOL. Microsoft says that error usually means something on the receiving server's end and AOL doesn't mention that it throws out any email without giving a reason as to why it was returned. I am also receiving NDR's from Mindspring.com domains that list blocking dialups/open relays as the reason for bouncing the email. I have included a copy of both NDR's below.
As you may have figured out by now, I am an Exchange 2000 newbie and these issues are probably easily solved so I would like to thank everyone for helping out. I am running Windows 2000 Server SP3 with AD and have DNS and DHCP installed on one machine and Windows 2000 SP3 Server with Exchange 2000 SP3 installed on another machine. I am using a dynamic DNS to forward traffic to my DSL connection.
Now that this post if 5 pages long, I think I'll stop now.
Thanks again,
Chris.
