Problems with IIS 5.1 SMTP Server

I've got IIS 5.1 running on my Windows XP laptop. I want to use the SMTP server to send mail from my Outlook client on the laptop. Whenever I send mail to the SMTP server, it drops the mail in the folder c:inetpubmailrootQueue and never delivers. My default domain is a local domain. I've got this exact same setup working on a desktop, but this doesn't want to work on my laptop. Any suggestions?
