I would like to start a discussion regarding AD and Empty Root Domains.
I have an empty root domain called co.com with a user domain called americas (americas.co.com). I want to build another domain in Asia and name it asia.co.com. I will have a VPN connection between the US and Asia. Additionally, I want to add a site in Mexico in the Americas domain. This site will also connect using VPN.
Questions:
1. What dependencies are there on the root domain co? I mean what actually goes on there?
2. Does there need to be a dc in Asia for the co domain? Mexico?
3. If Asia and America ever split, is there a simple way to sever the domains?
