Greeting Everyone,
need to know if there's any function in the MS Exchange 5.5
in Auto Sending a message reply on or for some else that is not'
around in office for a week.
What I meant was if person A send an email to person B.. as
person B is on holidays.. how could Exchange server
using Outlook Express client is able to auto send greeting
or message to person A, of informing he / she that person B
would be in office after certain time later..
Thanks

Obviously, the best way to do this is with MS Outlook's "Out of Office Assistant". However, if you are using Outlook Express, I would do the following:
Go to the Tools Menu
Message Rules --> Mail
Select the conditions for rule as "For All Messages"
Then choose the action as "reply with message"
Choose a *.txt file with the out of office information and you're golden :)
Make sure the mail client is automatically set to check for mail ... AND ... that it is up and running. This is the downside to this method. The Outlook Express client has to be up and running (downloading mail) for this to work.
I don't think there is a way to server store the Out of Office reply like you can with Outlook configured as corporate/workgroup. If you find a way, let me know.
Technet has confirmed the above.
