Has anyone out there know of any impacts of implementing sp2 on win2k systems. Any documentation or links would be great or any experience although I have a feeling there will not be too many guys out there who have implemented it.

We did have a problem: concerning RIS
On site 1, we have 2 domain controllers. Lets name them Server1 and Server2
'Server1' is DHCP server, 'Server2' is only RIS server.
Server2 was authoruized for ris, but after applying SP2, The BINL service kept saying it wasn't authorised.
I tried reinstalling RIS , ... byt everything failed.
We did uninstall SP2 from this Server2 and everything worked fine again.

Server1, en my personal station are working fine.

After applying SP2, outlook express can't get to any POP3 server such as yahoo mail....

Hi there,

Proxy Server 2.0 installed on Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional with MSP Client on it: Never install Service Pack 2 on these, as it is going to kill Winsock Service, which would result in serious problems. This will be fixed with Service pack 3.
