internet application[auto logon and exit]

Hi all,
I have an application in Visual basic in which i have to open up my home page [in Internet explorer] and click the link in the page ,then put the userid and password in the fields provided in the next page and login to the page and then close the pages and internet explorer instance

the above said process has to happen automatically triggered by a job in sheduler.can anybody help me how i can do this in asp or VB
