I have the job of moving information from one exchange 5.5 server to another. The new 5.5 server uses a different name. During the installation of the new server, i told it to join the existing site "OSBA". i then installed sp4 on the new machine. The old server has been running sp4 since its release.
After this i looked up on the exchange administrator. Though i can open each server up by typing the name of the server in manually, they do not appear to be on the same site. But both of them list as "Server Blah in Site OSBA" at the top of their windows.
My question is, is there something more i have to do to put this new server in the same site as the old one? Does this involve creating a new connector?
I have been attempting to use the "The Ed Crowley Server Move Method", but found its not very detailed for those who dont administrate exchange day to day. Ive done searching thru the exchange groups with deja.com and have had no luck.
