My client has a single NT4.0 domain, one PDC and one BDC with Exchange 5.5 running on the PDC. He wants a new server installing running W2K and also wants to upgrade to Exchange 2000.

Are there any fairly painless methods that anybody has used? I've gone over so many white papers now from MS, and am still not sure what the best method would be for this particular scenario. The client wants to retain their existing NT4.0 domain - not upgrade it to W2K AD. Is the easiest thing to do to create a new W2K domain and use two way trusts between it and the NT4.0 domain?

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

HI
There is a easy method for this. Just installed 2K in the new server .. Install AD and DNS. Establis two-way trust between NT and 2K domain. Then use ADMT (Active directory migration tool)to migrate th users from NT to 2K. Then u can run ADC connector/forestprep/domainprep/exchange 2K and migrate the users.

This method wud give u 0% downtime so this is the safest method as u can do the migration parallaley without upsetting the existing productin n/w.

Look at technetz site for more detailz......
