Changing Serial Number

Thanks for your help in advance. I have been building W2K servers at the office under the assumption that the licensing was Enterprise Wide. Unfortunately, they are now saying that it is not. Instead of having to resintall the OS's is there a way that I can purchase a license then use the serial number within the server already running? Can I modify a registry setting or something with the license that I just bought?
