When I'm attempting to start Exchange 5.5 Administrator, I get an Dr Watson generated error : admin.exe
exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address 0x00000000
and the program exits . How do I resolve this?

If this is straight after installation...
before you try anything try the latest service pack.

Exchange 5.5 - SP 4
NT - SP6a

in that order.

Make sure your domain NT account that you are logged into is in the local SAM's (on your workstation) administrator group, as that is required to open Exchange Admin.
