I would like to upgrade from sbs 4.5 primarily for redundancy purposes. The company is quite small and the sbs handles all file/print, sql and exchange functionality.
The main issue is that on many occasions the sbs server has gone down and users are left with no resources. Could someone offer some advice on upgrading.
The current setup is nt4 with sbs 4.5
The options I am considering are:
1 Upgrading to sbs 2000
Would sbs 2000 work in a server cluster if one server goes down can a secondary server take over - this is a priority with regard to exchange and e-mail.
2 Setting up a new 2000 domain from scratch.
3 Is it possible to add a secondary exchange server either to there current exchange 5.5 or upgrading to 2 exchange 2000 server.
Having great difficulty finding info - If anybody has done this or can suggest alternatives - it would be great.
Many Thanks
