In an attempt to rectify problems with my installation of 5.5, I copied the dir.edb, priv.edb and pub.edb files to another folder and then uninstalled and reinstalled Exchange 5.5 . However, when I attempted to recopy the .edb files I can only get the directory service and the system attendant service to start . The IS service (service specific error 1105), the MTA service (Internal Windows NT error 2140 occurred) and the Event service (Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start) wont start . I've run the ISINTEG - PATCH and that works ok but the Information Store still wont start . I'm looking at running ESEUTIL on the three databases to see if that will help . Also, is it possible to import the data held in those three files into a clean installation of Exchange??
