Help for beginner

So I would basically like a set-up like my college had, log in from any computer in my home and it loads your settings, I would have administrative control and be able to log out anyone who should be in bed instead of on their computer, etc. I am completely new and also have the better part of a decade before I will need something like this, but I would like to keep up on everything and be able to plan it out. Is there anywhere I can go that can bring me from a somewhat moderate tech level (i've successfully built a desktop - nothing amazing) to confidently setting up this plan I have? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Basically you need to learn about servers. The features you mentioned are all standard fare for Windows Server. Microsoft has many tutorials, planning documents and white papers that address the features and functions of it operating systems and software.
