I recently ran into a problem using GPO's to distribute MSI files we created using the Veritas program on the Server CD. The MSI's seem to install fine, and the first time you run them they configure settings, the windows installer bar pops up saying its configureing etc. The problem is that under a user or power use logon this comes up about configuring every time you try to open the program, where as under a local admin it only comes up the first time.
The MSI's are being installed into a windows XP machine, and we disabled all other policies except the one that assigns the software to the machine to make sure they were not causing the issue.
Has anyone else seen anything like this before? or know a way around it? Giving users local administrative access is not a viable option.
