Q: My first server and scripting setup

I have just completed building my first NT(2000) test server at home, to delve more in to the admin and creating a NT network. I am a happy novell admin and done quiet a bit of scripting.

The problem is and it could be also be done as a section for the website is how and where do people run their scripts and what changes and location do people run their scripts from.

Is there a way to deploy a global script(something simple like map a couple of drives and maybe help me configure software like word etc through the registry, I can see that local or indvidual scripts can be setup via the User Mangler or ADS.

So please can some one give me my first lesson of what I need to be able to do and how to setup my server to be able to use scripting...

OK .. I hope this helps answer some of your questions. I like using Kixstart script. http://www.kixtart.org/ This scrip will allow you to map drives acording to NT Group membership, Execute files, modify the reg settings and some other cool things .. This allowing all users in a domaing to run one script.

As for the location of the files ... ( I assume you mean where they are located on the server for clients??? ) .. Check out this path on your server: system_drivewinntsysvolsysvolyour_domain_namescrip ts
This path is where login scripts are .. good luck
