I have a situation where I need to hold the drive letter assignment for a
CD-ROM in a PC. In this situation the drive letter assignment R:.
By swapping out the CD-ROM with a different manufactured CD-ROM, Windows 2000 loads the correctg driver, but reassigns the drive letter to the next available letter ( eg E:).
The hopeful outcome is to have windows 2000 keep the user selected drive letter at all times independent of who makes the drive.
