Here is the situation. I have a 2k pro laptop that is part of the LAN at our corporate office. This user goes home, logs in (cached network account of course). They are setup with a wireless card for the home network (everything is wireless at home - corporate network uses non wireless nic in laptop). Upon bootup the w2k pro machine obtains a dhcp address from a tower at their home office (192.168...address /255.255.255.0). The tower is used as a home file server, and the user has shortcuts on the w2k laptop to access the home tower. The home tower is w98 with printer/file sharing setup.

The problem is that prior to moving the laptop to Windows 2000 everything worked fine. Now, on Windows 2000 with the laptop they cannot connect. "no logon servers available to currently service your logon request" The w2k laptop can ping the tower and does obtain a dhcp address, but cannot connect by the path of \192.168.0.1c$ - this is the tower address and share.

If I logon to the w2k laptop with the local administrator account (into the w2k computer) it works. It simply does not work with the cached network account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
