I work at a school and we just upgraded our whole setup. We now have win2k3 running AD, with 2 DC's and NAS for storage.
Basically what I want to learn is how to modify permissions on our accounts (We had the server setup by an external company) so I dont have to bother them all the time - but they dont like telling us how to do these things or they wouldn't get the money.
Does anyone know of an online crash course in win2k3 policies?

Best way is search Microsoft as they have heaps of documentation on this subject, even google would come up with heaps of basic walkthroughs.
"modifying permissions on accounts" is quite a broad question....

Thanks psuedo - it's not a very active forum is it.
To be a little clearer, I need to enable the users to save cookies - at the moment it enables Admins to, but not anyone in any other group.
Cookies are required to log into Moodle, which the school uses on and off.
I'll have another search though, and may contemplate an Active Directory course.

Ahh cookies..It won't be a permissions problem with the user accounts, but more likely what we call a group policy setting that may be blocking cookies from being downloaded. That is a bit more complicated than user accounts, groups, etc.
But since it is moodle it may be just an internet explorer (or whatever browser you use) setting. You can change the settings (in IE) under tools>internet options>privacy>sites and add your moodle url in there. That should allow cookies to be used.

Yeh I tried doing that in IE and FF, but when logged in as a restricted user, I'm not allowed to modify any settings - which is what we asked the guy that set it up for us so that students (and teachers!) don't modify proxy settings and the homepage.
Ah well, I'll just send him an email when I get enough little modifications for him to make. (The reason I asked here is because he charges a min hour block and I thought it may be like a 5 min job.)
