Hi,

We use Exchange server 5.5 as our mail server. We currently have two different domain servers. Domain #1 (e.g. www.domain1.com) mail server is productive and all our users use this Domain #1 mail boxes by using Microsoft Outlook2000.

In Domain #1 Exchange Server, I have included a custom recipient address of Domain #2 email address (e.g. user@domain2.com). So when I am trying to send a new mail using this Domain #2 email address (i.e, user@domain2.com) in 'From' column, I am getting the following error:

"You do not have permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user".

PS: When I am trying to logon as 'Administrator', I am able to send the message.

Your help is highly required to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance.. Smunial

I would think that you could use the Administrator account due to the fact that you are probably starting the services on all your Exchange Servers with this account. Thus they have at least Service Account Admin. permissions and can cross administer both Exchange Domains / Sites. Personal accounts aren't going to share these permissions, and thus won't have the same access.

Are these servers part of the same Organization? Can you connect then with a site connector? This would seem to be the easiest solution. If you give one organization the e-mail domains (addresses...) of both domains, give one site / server the mailboxes for people in one domain, and the second site / server the mailboxes of the people in the second domain, then the domains would be on seperate servers, yet would be part of the same organization making administration much easier.

I hope this helps.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for responponse.
1) As you said Exchange Server Service has Logon account for Administrator.
2) Are these servers part of the same Organization? Yes, We have two different servers in the same LAN
3) Can you connect then with a site connector? I did not get your question
4) I have given the same Organization name for both the Servers and Site and Server names are different
E.g: in Exchange Server-1
Organization -> site1.com -> Server1

in Exchange Server-2
Organization -> site2.com -> Server2

So, Still the problem exists.. Require your help!

Thanks in advance
