Hi,
I have an exchange server that I need to restrict from routing external mail. It has service pack 3 loaded, and I do get the routing restrictions button on the Routing tab, but it is greyed out so I am unable to select it. Also the Reroute incoming SMTP mail option is selected with my home domain as the incoming.
What do I have to do to have the routing restriction button no longer greyes out ?
It sounds like a rights issue. Are logged in with an account which is a member of the exchange admin group?

I initially thought it may have been a rights issue, but I've used both the exchange service account, and administrator's account, both still leave that option greyed out.

It sounds like a rights issue. Are logged in with an account which is a member of the exchange admin group?

I would try to either reinstall the SP3 service pack on exchange or Go up to SP 4.
