opps I removed inhertit permissoins from parent under public folders and lost the lot can't mount public folders cant see them in exchange system manager owa nor outlook can see them.


what a tw*t I am

we set up to test servers win2003 active dir exch2003
did the same and the only way we could fix it was with a system state restore .
Dont really want to do this on a live domain/exchange site with 3 domani controllers

You can use Xcacls.exe to Modify NTFS Permissions and put it into a script to get it back the way it was if you know what all the settings were.

The issue is that all of the permissions are set to local resource and not by inheritance.

For what it's worth, a system state restore, as meesy and involved as it is, is probably the best and most supported way to get this scenario back up to speed.

we went for a system state restore in the end few probs with ntdsutils but all is fine now
