When I came in to work yesterday I discovered that my IMAP clients running off of Exchange were hanging (say in OE when hitting the send/receive button). I verified with nmap and portqry that the IMAP port was available. My MAPI clients are working off of the same server with no problems.
In the event logs I see an occasional event id of 11304 Exchange IMAP 4 (a response to the client at 1.2.3.4 failed with error 0x40) and event id 13003 from IMAP authentication that foo/bar/foo.bar HrLookupCrendentials failed.
Nothing has changed on the server from Friday when it all worked to now. My IMAP clients can run Outlook and get connectivity, however, my webmail interface on the Internet is now broken since it uses IMAP to connect.
I have searched around with no luck about this. Before I call Microsoft is there anyone who has seen this before and has any idea how to correct it?
