I cannot get Outlook to recognize my Exchange Server over the Internet. I can use Outlook Web Access ok but I can't use the Outlook client. What is needed to make this work?

Are you trying to get clients to tie into the Exchange Server so they can reach their mail? If so, other than OWA, you'll need to set up clients to use POP.

You have an Exchange Server in a domain named home.com. In order for JUSER@hone.com to get their email from the Exchange Server while on the road by dialing a national ISP (for example, Prodigy Internet) they would have to set up their email client to log in (once connected to the internet) as JUSER@home.com over POP (port 110)

The other way is for the user to dial the national ISP and then RRAS into the domain and just directly attach to the Exchange Server as if they were sitting local to it.

You're also going to need either the IP address of the Exchange Server (or the gatewat into your environment to get to the server via the National ISP) or have the MX records recognized by DNS servers on the internet.

Thanks for the help. I was starting to try to configure RRAS but am having difficulty configuring the server for VPN. I do have my domain name registered but my MX records are on my local server. How do I configure the Exchange server to accept POP access?

Thanks,

Got this to work on my own. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate your suggestions.

Anytime, sorry I wasn't quicker on the reply but I know the feeling of figuring it out too... you must be psyched
