I run a NT4 network and we want to remove expired computer accounts from the server to clean us up before we migrate to 2000.
I have read conflicting information regarding what constitutes the length of time before a computer account resets its password on the server. An article from MS stated 7 days, another post I"ve seen said 2 weeks. I've dumped dates from my server using netpwage.exe and my 2000 client showed up with a 18 day old password.

So is it 7 days or 2 weeks, for nt4 and different for 2000?

I want to be able to dump a list out and give it to my admins to remove old accounts based on thier region. (we are statewide, with 8 sites) I wanted to be able to filter the list on a password age, but have not found a consensus in what is actual.

Does anyone know?

Thanks
Ted

Under Windows NT workstation the computer account password is updated every 7 days

You can adjust that 7-day period up to 1,000,000 days.

For Windows 2000, the default computer account password change is 30 days.
