Hi there,

Has anyone managed to get Exchange 5.5 IMS to connect to an SMTP server via Proxy Server 2 and a RRAS demand dial interface? My setup is:

Stirling - NT4/SP2 + Exchange 5.5 + Network Card
Bailey - NT4/SP3 + Proxy Server 2 + RRAS/Hotfix 1 + NIC + Modem

The Proxy services work just fine but I am still not sure about the IMS service. What I want is the Stirling IMS to connect through a demand dial connection on Bailey.

The problem is that I installed Stirling IMS with the dial up otion and if I switch of dial up option it seems to disable IMS.

Should I re-install IMS without the dial up option or is there a better way?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

I use IMS inside my proxy 2.0, but i dont use RAS in the exchange machine.
I have installed the proxy client on the exchange machine and configure the
ip address to relay messages from exchange to my isp smtp relay.

One more thing, i have had to make a perl script to send the ETRN command
to my ISP when i want to retrieve my messages. I havent found where exchange
have this configuration to send i you havent the exchange server conected directly
to your isp via RAS

Please, answer my to my direct email.
