1 - Has anyone ever seen in Exchange 5.5 where transaction logs do not commit to the .edb files after a full backup has taken place? I am running NtBackup with the appropriate \DS and \IS switches, but no dice. The only way I can actually get the logs to write out is to get the administrator to run the Optimizer (I assume it`s because the Optimzer is doing a service stop & start & the logs finally commit, but from what I`ve read that it`s an iffy way to actually force a write)
2 - Is there any fix to get Exchange to *correctly* report the number of files and resources a user mailbox is actually taking up on the server? I vaguely recall at the time of installation (ie. not a single user has even used mail as of yet) Exchange was reporting some users had literally hundreds of objects in their mailbox. I know stuff in Outlook such as Contacts, Calendar entries etc. that were sitting all locally on each client machine are probably being counted but since this is not taking up .edb space I don`t care to have it counted.
3 - Does anyone have any documentation on how to install code page support for mixed language environments? (ie. mixing French standard Outlook clients with a US English Exchange backend, all running on a French standard NT 4.0 server) Currently users can`t add members to DL`s or look at user property screens because of the code page differences... but I am fuzzy on what end I should be installing the support.
TIA,
RM
