Hello,
We are migrating from IIS3.0 to IIS4.0 , does somebody know
the issues or problems people face during the migration. Is the web application developed with IIS3.0 is compatible with IIS4.0

I have taken part in many migrations and re-builds I have never seen an application not work on one server and not on the other. I would suggest doing the migration in the lab first however.

Overall, IIS 3.0 and 4.0 are compatible. The major exception is that some of the ASP elements have changed. The ad rotator, for example, uses a slightly different properties.
Read the read me before progressing, as there are some issues that are covered there. The first machine we moved over did not work correctly and it was covered in the read me.

I recently upgraded two of my IIS servers from 3.0 to 4.0 with a few small problems. On one of my servers it was a dedicated IIS server and the only thing I had to do was stop any performance monitors and virus protection before I upgrade and the upgrade was smooth. But if you have Exchange running you may run into some problems with the web access client. make sure you stop the web access client service before you upgrade and you shloud be ok. Good luck.

Yes, remember the INETPUB is the directory that house all files, so there no compatiblity uses simple upgrade to IIS4.0 but remember to use the NT OPTION PACK and not the Internet download..
