Need help recovering .OST

Yesterday, we lost our Exchange5 server, and I need to recover my .OST (I didn`t know until I read an e-mail in the new server). I followed the MS support article Q181325, Using the Inbox Repair Tool to Recover Messages because it said that it would work for a .OST also. Following the article, I ran the Scanpst.exe on a copy of my .OST and it said that it repaired it. However, when I went to import it, Outlook98 said that it wasn`t a .PST. So I renamed it .PST, no luck. I also tried renaming a copy of the .OST to .PST before running ScanPST.exe, no luck.

If your "Exchange Mailbox Profile" has been changed from old exchange server to new exchange server. then there is no chance you can recover your OST file. Need more info.
