Wintt Error Code 4

I have problem with installing nt

during boot disk installing setup stops and says

"could not load this file... Ntkrnmlp.exe

Error Code 4"

and ý am sure file is not corrupt

Please help me

There are three possible causes to this scenario:

1. The computer is running with outdated firmware.
2. Outdated Arcinst.exe was used to create the system partition.
3. The computer was configured using an EISA configuration utility (ECU) for another operating system.

And 3 possible solutions depending on the cause:

1. Check with DEC for the latest firmware for the model Alpha computer in question.

2. If you are installing Windows NT 3.51, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

The Arcinst.exe in Windows NT 4.0 has not had any reported problems.

3. Download the proper ECU utility from DEC and use it to view and then save your computer`s EISA configuration settings.

My gosh I have just had that error message my self and this was the only post i could find on the matter on the big bad web, and it was from eight years ago !!!

Anyway, "could not load this file... Ntkrnmlp.exe : The error code is 4" was the exact message i got while trying to load windows server 2003. after an hour of looking on line for an answer i decided to look at the spec required for it. seeing that it required a 133Mhz processor minimum the penny dropped. i hadnt turned me processor up yet.

So bumped the FSB up to 133 and restarted install and it is now working fine.

I realise that this is a bit late for the original post maybe but i thought i would say something in case anyone else needs information on this error code.
