Hi all,
I got the following
error when I use Outlook Web Access. The problem occurs only after we backup our server overnight.
---------------
error `ASP 0115`

Unexpected error

/exchange/USA/Default.asp

A trappable error occurred in an external object. The script cannot
continue running.
------------
We are running Exchange server 5.5 with Service pack 1 and I thought that SP1
should fix this problem (Article ID:Q171593).
Anyone has the similar problem ? Is there a solution to this ?
To work around this problem I have to stop and start the IISADMIN service.
If I do not backup overnight then the Outlook Wed Access is OK.
Thank you.

We ge this too, I dont think it is related to your backups, as we get it at various times.
seems to happen after updating our content, or if a user tries to login to mapi twice.
we are trying to find the root. if we do i will post

If you haven`t seen Microsoft`s Q184841, you should reference it. I believe there is a fix available in SP1 but we haven`t had time to test/implemented that as of yet. I have a feeling it is IIS related.

I read the Q-article mentioned below, and it said that the lastest SP should solve this. My problem is that I've already installed SP1 for Exchange 5.5, and to my knowledge, that's the latest one available.

It's not just OWA - ASP 0115 errors have haunted every Exchange-based application we've developed. The one we're really trying to fix is the OrgChart app that uses most of the OWA code to display dynamic org charts directly from the GAL.

Good news, on a freshly built NT4 server, with sp4, Exchange 5.5, with sp1 - OWA has been running well - no 0115s (yet), although we just went production on it so my fingers are crossed!

We've been working with Microsoft Premier support and they've been good - but we still see the problem. I just found this site ... I'll be watching this thread for new or helpful information, thanks!

Hello All,

I donīt know if this happens to everyone, but I there's something strange in OWA. In the page Root.asp, right after logon, there is a page title.asp, where there is a select box(the first item of that is 'messages'). Well, here's what's happening:
in that select box, I get 6 items when I logon with my account they would be
and the same happen to at least 10 other users accounts in the company(that i tested)
<SELECT Name="viewSelect" onChange="parent.UpdateView(selectedIndex+1)">
<OPTION SELECTED >Messages<OPTION >
Unread Messages<OPTION >
By Sender<OPTION >
By Subject<OPTION >
By Conversation Topic<OPTION >
Unread by Conversation Topic

I know there are more items because when I logon with my manager account, there will be up to ten items, including a Sent TO, which is our big problem. Since it is a little redundant knowing who sent the message in the sent items folder, what you really want to know is who it was sent to, and in most of the accounts this item would just not appear.
I tried fixed numbers for the loop, but it returns an error...

Is there any exchange configuration for this?

Thanks in advance

Mauricio
