Access Exchange Server across workgroup and domain

Can anyone tell me how to access Exchange Server across workgroup and domain?

The senario is as following,
There is a workgroup called W1 and a doamin called D1, I want to let users in W1 to access Exchange Server 5.5 located in D1, how can I do?

Exchange server requires each mailbox associates with a NT account, both for direcory object association and logon varification. You must crate domain account for each workgroup users before they can access exchange server.
