We have a lot of applications running on the NT network. Once a user has logged on and wants to browse the start menu to run an application, it takes ages before a sub menu with the icons appears. Probably because of all the icons that have to be loaded from somewhere on the network. Is there any way to speed this up?

Ed,

Have you considered copying the lnk files to the user`s start menu directory on login? I believe you could do this with a login script. Best of luck,

Ed,

Are you using local or roaming profiles? Also, are you using a user policy to set custom start menu parameters?
