We recently had to restore our public folders from backup. When restored, some of the folders were marked as read-only.

None of our users seem to be able to reset the permissions on the folder (by right-clicking on it in outlook and clicking on the permissions tab).

Is there another way of setting permissions on public folders? Is there a way of finding out who is set as the owner of the folder?

Any help gratefully received.

You can use the Exchange System Manager and navigate down to the "Folders" to gain access to the public folders. Right-click the public folder in question and select properties. Finally click the client permission button to see the permissions.
