Our site has recently upgraded our server to Windows 2000 server. Brand new server, new install with data transfered later.
Its currently at SP3.
We have 15 NT4 Workstations all running Office XP with absolutely no issues whatsoever.
We have 2 Windows XP Workstations which constantly struggle to open files giving various different errors. e.g.
Double clicking on a Word or Excel document, immediaely after a reboot of the server withno other users logged on, with no open files in computer manager. Gives the response "The file iscurrently open for editing by "username" " and is opened as reaonly. The user that is apparently editing it is whoever double cliked on it.
Similarly Creating a new word or excel document and trying to save it basicaly says the same thing, though Save as works.
This happens randomly, and is causing us much trouble, as we end up with multiple copies of documents all marked read only, and can only be leared by and Admin after a reboot.
I thought Windows XP and Office XP, would work well together but no, it seems that good old NT4 runs it better as this has never happened with the NT4 Workstations.
ANy one help please.
Thanks
