Have a primary Wins server running NT4 SP6a and secondary wins server running NT4 SP6a. The primary Wins server also replicates with several other wins servers on adjacent domains all of which can see each other.
Have set up a static mapping (www.awceonet with an associated IP address) on the primary wins server and then forced it to "replicate now".
The static mapping has not shown up in the secondary wins server database, as it should do, but when I do a filter on the IP address it finds an entry with a different machine name. When I check the other wins servers there is no entry for this static mapping at all.
Is it possible to have a machine name "www."?
If not is this the lieky cause as to why it hasn't replicated around the various wins servers?
Is it likely that when I did a search on the IP address and it returned a different machine name that it is setup as an alias somewhere?
Any ideas on why its not replicating these static mappings would be great.
