Disaster Recovery of NT 4.0

Gents and ladies,

Is there any way of restoring SAM of a PDC onto a fresh NT 4.0 box for Disaster recovery, assuming that the new box is a different spec?

I've looked into the how it can be done and the best solution I've been given is to keep a BDC on another site, which doesn't seem very practical.

There may also be settings in the registry that may be restored onto the new box, but I'm not sure what these are, or whether it's a stable solution.

Any ideas?

Forgot to mention that if the SAM is Backed up. What is needed to be restored onto the new box in the way of data and registry.
