Hi looking for some advise - There is hardly any actually info on how to do upgrade WINS from NT4 to W2K, there is one Q article - Q215392, which describes the conversion (and is a bit hazy) but not any background info about changing hostnames/ip addresses, stopping replication or not etc etc.
I was hoping to just stop WINS on the NT box copy the DB, start WINS again and leave, then copy DB onto W2K let it convert, test it, pulling the prod DB NT4 updates.... stop WINS again on NT box, rename and re-ip the W2K box to mimic the old and hopefully all the replication and clients will just work with the new W2K DB.
Has anyone else done this and can they highlight any potential issues or tips they might have seen.
Would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Clare

I have done this for about 10 servers. The only thing is that you need to make sure you follow Q215392 to the LETTER! Everything you have proposed after the move should be a piece of cake.

Clare,
In the past, I've installed WINS from scratch and just
allowed the database to rebuild itself.
